What is FOIA?

“The Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is designed to ensure that Illinois residents can obtain information about their government.” FOIA statute. In accordance with Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s effort to make the business of public bodies available to everyone, Macomb C.U.S.D. #185 has instituted guidelines and procedures for receiving and responding to FOIA requests.
