SENIOR OF THE MONTH-NOVEMBER
Madeline MacGregor daughter of Adrian MacGregor and Kathleen MacGregor has been selected by members of the MHS Faculty Council as Senior of the Month for November, 2021. This program is sponsored by the Mid-America National Bank who established the program to recognize the accomplishments of outstanding senior students.
Madeline participates in the Madrigals, Bomber Bellas, MYLO, National Honor Society, Speech Team, and is President of the Macomb High School Thespian Troupe.
Madeline is involved with private piano lessons and is a member of the Crossing Worship Band and Crossing Kids' Ministry. She also volunteers at the Elms and Heartland Nursing Homes, Macomb Arts Center (pianist) and volunteers at the First Presbyterian Church.
Madeline has earned many honors which include Division 1 rankings for piano and vocal solos for IHSA/IESA Solo & Ensemble Competition (2017-2020); Best of Day Award for Piano Solo (2021); and Most Valuable Player Award for Girls' Tennis (2018-2020).
Some favorite pass times are composing music and spending time with family and friends.
Madeline has had previous work experience lifeguarding at Georgetown Pool and currently works as a sales associate at Maurices.
After high school, Madeline plans to attend either Indiana University or University of Iowa to major in Music Education while continuing with studying classical piano.
Congratulations to Madeline for being selected Senior of the Month for November, 2021 !!!!

Final Exam Review
On Thursday, December 11, Monday, December 15 and Tuesday, December 16, MHS students are invited to stay from 3:05-4:15 p.m. for quiet study review sessions. Teachers will be there to offer assistance to students as they prepare for their first semester exams.
Students will receive their study guides from teacher on or before Wed, Dec 8.
STUDENT EXPECTATIONS FOR FINAL EXAMS
Semester exams will count for 10 percent of the semester grade.
Lunch hour is open to all 9-12 grade students. Freshmen have permission to leave campus for lunch.
Study hall attendance will be optional. The Auditorium Foyer will be available for those students who choose to attend.
All students will be required to stay in their assigned rooms for the entire testing period. No routine hall traffic will be allowed. Hall passes will be issued only for emergency situations.
Makeup exams are scheduled from 1:10-3:05 on Thursday December 16 and Friday December 17. Any exceptions must be approved in advance by both the teacher and the administration.
The Early Bird P.E. Exam will be Monday, December 15 at 7:10 a.m. WACS classes will not meet during exam days. All WACS exams will be given at the discretion of the teacher.

Italy Summer 2023
Pompeii, Venice, or the Colosseum anyone? Plans are underway for a trip to Italy in the summer of 2023. There will be a virtual Zoom meeting on December 15th at 7:00PM. Scholastic Bowl
Congratulations to MHS Varsity Scholastic Bowl captain, Henry Jones, for being the #4 top player on the All-Tournament Team at the IHHSBCA David Riley Memorial Kickoff Tournament in Lincoln, IL on 11/20/21. Henry answered toss-ups totaling 635 points
MHS JV Scholastic Bowl placed 2nd at the Curtis Butterfield Memorial Tournament at Moline High School on November 13th.

In case of inclement weather, please listen to the following radio/television stations for a report of school cancellations/early dismissals: WKAI - FM 100.1, WJEQ - FM 102.7, WIUM - FM 91.3; TV stations: KHQA channel 7 and WGEM channel 10. We ask that you please DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL so that we may keep phone lines open in case of emergencies.
Also, our SKYLERT system will notify you via a phone call of any school cancellation/early dismissal. Please make sure we have updated information at all times.
