Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how proud I am to be the Superintendent of this district! What our employees and partners are doing on a daily basis to take care of our students is beyond spectacular and demonstrates the commitment they all have for the children under our care. I met virtually today with the teacher leadership team and the administration team to discuss what the immediate future will look like. I am confident the teachers and administrators will develop the most robust instructional delivery system we can given our circumstances. We are diligently working on a robust instructional delivery system that will greatly increase the rigor and interactions between the teachers and their students. You can expect more information concerning this topic next Wednesday or Thursday. The maintenance and custodial staff continues to keep our facilities ready upon on moments notice. Although we are formally closed until April 7th, the closure will likely extend beyond that date.
Meal delivery to our students is considered an essential service and will not be disrupted by the Shelter-in-Place mandate. We will continue this service on Monday and every week day thereafter. We will also continue with our grab and go meals at the buildings until Monday, March 23, 2020. Beginning Tuesday all meals will be delivered directly to the homes. If for any reason you need meals and are not receiving them or know of households that are not receiving them please contact the school and they will be added to the meal delivery routes. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kim Thorman, the Manager of Macomb Country Club for donating a full truck load of perishable food to be delivered to our students. You are all in my prayers and together we will get through this difficult time.
